Canon FD 35-70mm f/4
Canon FD 35-70mm f/4 is a manual-focus zoom lens for Canon FD film SLRs. It offers a useful standard zoom range with a constant f/4 maximum aperture, making it a straightforward general-purpose option for travel, street and everyday shooting on 35mm bodies. As an early FD-era zoom, it is built with metal and glass construction, and handling is typically characterised by a smooth focus ring and a compact, no-frills design rather than modern speed or close-up convenience. Optical performance is generally considered decent for its age, with best results usually in the mid-aperture range and some softness, flare or contrast loss more likely at the extremes. It suits users who want an authentic manual film experience, a solid all-round focal range and compatibility with classic Canon FD mount cameras. On the used market, check for smooth zoom and focus action, oil or stiffness in the aperture mechanism, haze or fungus inside the elements, and any signs of impact wear or excessive mount wear.
