The Canon EOS IX was the flagship SLR for the APS film format, featuring a distinctive stainless steel body. Unlike the plastic-bodied IX7, this model offers a more robust build and a higher specification, including a 3-point autofocus system inherited from the EOS 50. It maintains full compatibility with Canon EF lenses and supports E-TTL flash metering, providing a high level of control for an APS-format camera.
Check the condition of the metal exterior for dents and ensure the rear LCD settings screen is fully legible without segments missing. The battery door hinge is a known weak point and should be inspected for cracks. SDS verifies the shutter speeds and the electronic communication between the body and EF lenses. Like all APS cameras, film availability is restricted to expired stock.
