Canon EF-S 60mm f/2.8 Macro USM

Canon EF-S 60mm f/2.8 Macro USM is an APS-C macro lens with 1:1 reproduction and fast f/2.8 optics. Designed for Canon EF-S mount DSLRs, it gives a practical short-telephoto perspective that works well for close-up detail, product work and portraits, while still being light enough for everyday use. The USM autofocus is quick and quiet for a macro lens, and the lens supports full-time manual focus override; like most true macro lenses, it is equally at home in manual focus for critical framing. Image quality is widely respected for strong sharpness and good contrast, especially stopped down, with a flat field that suits reproduction work. It focuses down to 0.2 m and takes 52 mm filters, making it easy to fit common accessories. It has no image stabilisation and no weather sealing, so careful handholding and protection from the elements are sensible. On the used market, check that autofocus is smooth, the focus ring turns cleanly, the aperture blades are dry and snappy, and the front and rear elements are free from haze, fungus, scratches or excessive dust. Also inspect the mount for wear and make sure the supplied hood, caps and box are present if you value resale.
