Canon Drop-In Filter Mount Adapter EF-EOS R
Canon Drop-In Filter Mount Adapter EF-EOS R is a lens adapter for Canon EF and EF-S lenses on EOS R cameras with built-in filter support. Launched in 2019, it lets owners keep using EF glass on Canon RF bodies while adding a convenient rear filter slot, which is especially useful for polarising and neutral density work with lenses that lack front filter threads or have rotating fronts. The adapter is a practical, well-made bridge rather than a simple spacer, preserving electronic communication for autofocus, aperture control and image stabilisation where the lens supports it. Real-world handling is straightforward, though the extra thickness and filter cartridge add a little bulk compared with a plain EF-EOS R adapter. It suits photographers and videographers who already own Canon EF lenses and want more flexible filtration without changing lenses. On the used market, check that the release button, mount surfaces and electrical contacts are clean and unworn, and confirm the drop-in filter tray seats securely with no rattle or binding; also inspect any included filter for scratches, haze or delamination.
