Atomos Shogun 7
Atomos Shogun 7 is a 7-inch monitor-recorder for HDMI and 12G-SDI rigs, with 4K HDR monitoring and flexible video workflows. It sits above smaller Atomos monitors by adding SDI connectivity and recorder features aimed at mirrorless, cinema and broadcast users who need a larger daylight-viewable screen on set. In use it is best suited to operators who want a bright field display, simple touch control and an external recording/monitoring hub rather than a pure passive monitor. The unit is fairly compact for its class but still benefits from solid rigging, proper cable management and dependable power planning, especially on location. Used buyers should check the touchscreen for even response, inspect HDMI and SDI ports for looseness or bent contacts, confirm fans and buttons operate normally, and verify the unit records and plays back correctly with the intended media and power setup. Also look for wear on the body, screen, mounting points and any included cables or adapters, as these often show the hardest use on production gear.
