7Artisans 12mm f/2.8 - Nikon Z
7Artisans 12mm f/2.8 Multi-mount is a manual-focus ultra-wide prime lens with a fast f/2.8 aperture. It was sold in several mount versions, so the exact fit depends on the variant, but the optical formula is the same: a compact, fully manual lens aimed at landscapes, architecture and dramatic interiors. On APS-C bodies it delivers a very wide angle of view, while on full-frame versions the 12mm field of view is extreme and demands careful composition. The lens is appreciated for its solid metal build, straightforward mechanical aperture control and tactile focusing, making it popular with photographers who prefer a direct, no-electronics shooting experience. As with many ultra-wides, edge performance and distortion control are more important than shallow depth of field, and stopping down is usually needed for the best corner detail. It suits users who want an affordable, distinctive ultra-wide lens rather than autofocus convenience. When buying used, check the focus action, aperture ring smoothness, front and rear glass for scratches or haze, and inspect for dust, fungus or impact marks, especially around the filter thread and mount.
